If you think footwear is becoming predictable, Japanese designer Mikio Sakabe will change your mind. Like giant metallic cuffs for your legs, the cylindrical, bucket-like boots from his Fall 2011 collection give a whole new perspective to the idea of flats (a potentially uncomfortable one, at that). So, just in case you were looking to turn yourself into a rosy-gold robot from the knees down, here’s your chance. And–bonus!–the pieces look pretty indestructible. The only thing you might have to worry about is getting dents…
