Fashion: The Scoop
MODEL STYLE: NATALIA VODIANOVA
Thursday, March 11th, 2010

Anyone who knows me knows I am fascinated with models. Whether in a magazine editorial, on the runway or in a glossy ad for one of fashion’s top brands, models are constant storytellers, playing different roles every day—and I’m a sucker for girls who can deliver; I am inspired by their work.
Although I have many favorites, the model who currently has my—and much of the fashion industry’s—attention is Russian beauty Natalia Vodianova. She shines for her poise, and the way she owns the runway. Recently, thanks to Alexander Wang’s love of the “model off duty”, I’ve started to take more notice the individual styles of models everywhere, and Natalia’s is quite remarkable. On top of working as a successful model, she is a mother of three, the wife of British property heir Justin Trevor Berkeley Portman and manages to look impeccable at all times. Basically, she is amazing.

Natalia’s personal style changes as much as her look from one Vogue editorial to the next. Whether she is playing a rocker chick in a Louis Vuitton mini paired with cutout leggings or sitting front row at Yves St. Laurent in a black backless jumpsuit by the namesake label, she consistently solidifies her reputation as one of the industry’s best dressed. I love her mixing of brands, and her ability to work super-chic pieces with those more casual (like an Armani blazer with black stonewashed jeans). Whatever the outfit, she looks flawless.
Over the course of her career, she’s not only become a supermodel, but also a true individualist when it comes to her style. Ever evolving, I am excited to see Natalia Vodianova in the years to come; I have no doubt she will be fabulous at every age.
