PUCCI FW10 @ MILAN FASHION WEEK
Monday, March 1st, 2010
Designer Peter Dundas opened the FW10 Emilio Pucci show with a purple and blue printed jersey floor-length dress; tousled, beachy hair and a sun-kissed natural face. Hard to believe, but it only got better from there. The bohemian, hippie, ’70s child in me got all kinds of excited at first sight. This collection is right up my alley.
I loved the layering, and all of the beautiful scarves. The sexy, but not overtly so, minidresses came in different incarnations—beaded, feathered and jersey—and were all incredible. The high-waisted trousers were simply amazing; expertly cut, they were fitted, flared in all of the right places and—many times—expertly paired with a thick leather waist-belt and a cropped jacket. This is definitely a look I will be wearing come fall. Furs were super-luxe and strategically placed throughout the show. Look 31—the beaded “top” paired with belted, high-waisted trousers, shown on Iris S.—blew me away! I think that may be one of my top five looks of the season.
Overall, this collection was the epitome of sexy sophistication—with an edge, of course. I’ve been a long time Pucci fan, and Dundas has pleased me once again.
