HAIDER ACKERMANN FW10 @ PARIS FASHION WEEK
Wednesday, March 10th, 2010
Haider Ackermann’s FW10 collection absolutely blew me away! I looked at show’s runway images three times in a row. Major fashion porn. Best suited for a Far East motorcycle gang member-slash-Victorian vamp, the collection came complete with origami pleats, obi-style belts, capes, peplums and moto vests and jackets; I loved the juxtaposition of soft knits with structured leather. Body-con dressing at it’s best, Ackermann showed nothing, yet everything; true, many of the skirts contained super-high slits, but he kept the rest of the body completely covered.
In addition to his signature, fitted leather vests and jackets (we’re talking some serious, SERIOUS jackets!), the collection included asymmetrical cuts, captivating zipper accents and standout laser-cut leather gowns. Simply stunning. I loved the collection so much, picking a favorite look would be impossible. This final day of the FW10 show season, I’m tempted to call Haider Ackermann out as my favorite collection; I’ll report back.

STILL waiting after years for Ackerman to do a mens collection. AND a stockist in St. Louis with the balls to carry it. Guess I can dream ..
You and me both, Jason. In our dreams Haider Ackermann shall stay.
