Tahti Syrjala is a porcelain skinned, red-headed beauty that is quickly moving up to the top of my “must check daily” list. Besides the fact that she celebrates her pale-ness (fellow pale girls, rejoice!), I love that she features music, art and recipes on her blog. A gorgeous girl with a good taste in fashion, culture and she can cook? What a find!

Q: Where do you call home?

A: For a place, my house. For a country, Finland.

Q: Why did you start blogging?

A: I was inspired by all the fantastic blogs I read – and it was a way to fill up time.

Q: What is your daily uniform?

A: I don’t really have one! Most likely a pair of lace-up heeled boots, a structured skirt and a simple top.

Q: What do you splurge on?

A: Shoes, like most girls! I love make-up too, so a combination of the both.

Q: What was your last purchase?

A: A bottle of opal coloured nail polish – it’s gorgeous.

Q: The most dreaded girl question of all time… Is that your natural hair color?

A: Yes! I’m a natural redhead.

Q: What spring trend are you most looking forward to?

A: Nude! I absolutely love all the shades of this trend, and it’s so refreshing after all the black I wore last winter.

Q: Vogue, Elle or Harpers?

A: Vogue, as long as it’s Nippon or U.S.

Q: What influences your style outside of the fashion world?

A: Films, mainly – or books, or arrangements of colour/pattern that I see during the day.

Q: What kind of films or genres?

A: Short films and commercials from the 1920’s-60’s. Some films inspire me merely from the colors and camera technique used in them – my favorite film is Requiem for a Dream, I watched it when I was 15 initially, and would count it as a major influence in my vision. Films with food, too – Eat Drink Man Woman would be one.

Q: Who is your favorite up and coming designer?

A: Jen Kao – her FW10 show was stunning.

Q: What do you do when you’re not fashion blogging?

A: I’m a make-up student, so I study. I exercise – I love running, and I’m an avid bookworm. I bake and cook and clean a lot, too!

Q: What’s your favorite make-up trend happening right now?

A: My favourite make-up trend at the moment is OTT rainbow pastels, like the looks shown at Viktor & Rolf SS10 – so right for this season!

Q: What’s your best beauty trick?

A: Vaseline! It’s amazing for all kinds of moisturizing. I use it mainly as a facial moisturizer – I rub a small amount all over my skin, and rub water gently onto my face until the greasy feeling has disappeared. It makes skin so soft!

Q: Who are you currently stalking?

A: Ayla Brunhilde,  her fashion style is so great, and she’s really lovely too!
