Fashion: On The Runway

THE WORLD THROUGH THE EYES OF OHNE TITEL

Every time I see a piece by Ohne Titel, it calls to mind the line’s first SS08 collection: sweet, pure and posh. I was immediately excited to see what the future would hold for the brand. The label is all about the merging of soft draping and architectural shapes, and–based on the fit and finish of every piece–there’s an obvious strict attention to detail. Ohne Titel designers Alexa Adams and Floral Gill favor minimalism, but at the same time incorporate new textures, which make the brand stand out. Having recently garnered much attention as a nominee for the CFDA/Vogue Fashion Fund, I predict that Ohne Titel will be on fashion’s forefront in upcoming seasons.

The FW09 collection was memorable, thanks to an out-of-this-world take on a dark palette and chain-mail detailing on body-conscious knit dresses. For SS10, the designers went in a different direction; focusing on ancient Egyptian wall paintings during the times of the New Kingdom, the collection came complete with graphic knits covered in intricate mummy bands. Karlie Kloss opened the show, followed by a lineup of models posed as futuristic mummies. If I wasn’t a fan before, this collection would certainly seal the deal.

Although the brilliant duo didn’t win the CFDA/VOGUE Fashion Fund award, they are certainly winners in my book.
