Glemaud + Staerk FW10 @ New York Fashion Week
Tuesday, February 16th, 2010
Camilla Staerk’s close attention to detail and mood bring depth and emotion to her clean, minimalist aesthetic. Staerk’s FW10 collection, presented alongside collaborator Victor Glemaud at Milk Studios, projects a sophisticated, Weimar-noir aura—an alluring woman of discipline with a boldly masculine edge. In tailored leather; long, slender gloves; commanding neckties; sheer lingerie and thigh-high boots, one could easily see the season’s strict manner inspiring Helmut Newton to dress his big nudes. Paired with Victor Glemaud’s standout menswear collection, the lines amplify the underlying darkness and sexual exhuberance of each other, apparently without prior, conscious planning (Interview Magazine).
Glemaud’s sleek, athletic, alpine youth project strength and confidence. Deep blues, sunny yellows and brash reds enliven earthen browns, bracing zigzags and sporty stripes. Rigorous tailoring creates a powerful undercurrent that is deftly softened by rich fabrics, textured knits, quilting and loose layers.
