Fashion: The Scoop

GO ASK ALICE – ALICE BY TEMPERLEY

All of my life, I’ve wanted two things: to be British and to be cool. If these dreams of mine were to be personified in a clothing label, it would be Temperley London’s new line–Alice by Temperley.

Launching with a SS10 collection, the line is inspired by current London “it” girls Georgia May Jagger, Alice Dellal and Amber Le Bon. “She listens to the Killers, Gorillaz and the Cure. She likes to mix things up,” says the British designer. With Alice, Alice Temperley is certainly mixing things up a bit–taking Temperley London’s ultra-feminine mystique into a more affordable, more edgy and more contemporary direction.

Alice will feature jersey knits, gray denim, cotton tailoring and quilted biker jackets. Prices will range from about $160 to $1,000, with tops retailing for around $200 and jackets for $700. Images and any other information for Alice by Temperley is being kept under wraps, but–luckily–we won’t have to wait much longer; Alice will be sold in such select department stores as Harvey Nichols, Selfridges, Harrods and Neiman Marcus, as well as top-notch online boutiques, beginning in January.

To hold you over until Alice launches, here are some of my favorite looks from Temperley London’s SS10 collection.
