My Evil Twin

Everyone has some sort of an evil twin, or at least an alter ego. For me, it’s a Jayne Mansfield-type evil twin. For Corridor40 writer Moira, it’s me. To each his own. For Jodie Mckenzie, it’s her take on fashion. Always a fan of the darker, dressier side of street style, but never a fan of the high price tags she often encountered when attempting to achieve the look, she ventured off to create Evil Twin.

Evil Twin is a left-of-center take on everyday wear, with a subtle hint of grunge-punk and avant-garde detailing. What’s great about Evil Twin pieces is that you can easily take most from day to night with a simple change of shoes or accessories. The line is truly meant to be worn and lived in, and–with prices starting at only $40–that’s certainly possible! The recessionista in me thanks Jodes Mckenzie.

Wardrobe staples make a statement, the Evil Twin statement goes something like, “Yeah, I like to look good, but I don’t take this shit too seriously.” And, for that, I love it. As it turns out, Evil Twin may be my better half..

Unlike its sister brand, Mink Pink (definitely the “good twin”), it has yet to be picked up by major local retailers like Urban Outfitters and Macy’s. So, until it does, it looks like we’ll have to admire this Aussie brand from afar.
