Fashion: Cult Status

Proof Women FW10 by Wrath Arcane: Made Of Sound

In 1985 I was in love with Sasha Banicek. All I really wanted in life was to escape the 6th grade—and most preferably by getting kidnapped and flown to Europe by the sultry double-agent played by Linda Fiorentino in the teen-fantasy thriller, Gotcha (somehow, this was actually something of a realistic scenario in my head).

If I could now travel back in time to get chased through the streets of East Berlin by the KGB with the seductive spy at my side, I would definitely dress her in Proof, the new women’s collection by Wrath Arcane. Launching in fall 2010, Proof strikes just the right balance between structured, modern edge and easy, casual comfort. Alluringly moody, the collection does romantic and mysterious better than fräulein Fiorentino in the cult, Cold-War classic. While remaining true to the brand’s Eastern-Bloc-military inspired aesthetic and American-made roots, Wrath’s first foray into women’s wear is decidedly feminine and sexy. Or maybe the line’s look book model just makes me recall how much I wish it had been me and not Anthony Edwards who lost his wirginity to the sexy spy.
