Here Comes Trouble!!: Markus Lupfer
Tuesday, January 12th, 2010
You know those, “Why didn’t I know about this sooner?” moments that creep up on you from time to time? Well, I had one just the other day, when–baffled–I came came across a few pieces by German-born, London-based designer Markus Lupfer.
Introduced to his designs via Opening Ceremony, I immediately took to his black-and-white-striped sequin sailor dress. I found myself needing a full serving of the delicious collection, and was nothing short of satisfied with what I found for SS10.
Black and white dominate the color palette, making it the perfect match for all you chromophobes out there. Still, with thin black stripes, snakeskin and abstract prints, Markus Lupfer’s collection is anything but boring. I especially love the snakeskin dress with pleated, baby-capped-shoulder sleeves; nothing says summer like cap sleeves and snakeskin.
There’s something for every girl in this exceptionally chic collection. Whether it’s the short lace leggings, the “Here Comes Trouble!!”-print beach bag or the “BAD” halter graffiti wrap dress you love most, it’s likely you’ll find yourself staring at the collection, thinking to yourself, “Why didn’t I know about this sooner?”

I looove that BAD convertible dress! I felt the same way when i saw a few of his pieces on Revolve and thought, how do I not know about him?!
He is definitely a diamond in the rough!! I hope he gets the major recognition he deserves without becoming sell out but either way, Lupfer is amazing!
