AUTUMN’S HOLIDAY WISHLIST

If you’re out and about holiday shopping and just can’t find that one item that will make her say “wow,” then I have some help for you. Of course, this will only work is she’s a glamazon type of girl with a soft spot in her heart for all things vintage sex symbol-esque and a dangerous side that screams “leather is my bitch lover.” Because that’s true style. And style is knowing who you are, what you want to say and not giving a damn. And if that’s the girl you’re shopping for–you’re in luck! And if you’re shopping for me I’m dress size 2 and shoe size 7.

HolidayWishList

1. Victoria Beckham Perrault gown. I have to admit, when Posh Spice said she was coming out with a line of dresses I was skeptical. I was afraid that she’d be just another celeb wannabe designer, but she proved me wrong and won me over with her collection of elegant, secretly corseted glamazon gowns. My favorite is this long sleeve, 1940’s inspired long sleeve number. I feel like putting this on my wishlist is one step closer to my dream of becoming a real lady. Of course, I’m not sure where I’d wear this to, probably around the house while I indulge in old Rita Hayworth flicks while sipping cabernet. Who am I kidding, I’ll most likely be on the couch catching up on episodes of Glee and drinking Jameson on the rocks.

2. Bakers’ Pepper shoe by Rock Candy, $289. One part Balmain, one part Michael Jackson and a hint of Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band. This boot has me smitten. When paired with a strong-shouldered blazer, this boot will be able to make magic happen and give me the Emannuelle Alt moment that I’ve always wanted.

3. Red Lizard Lipstick by NARS Cosmetics, $24 The perfect stocking stuffer. I’ve found my perfect shade of red and need to stock up. It’s semi-matte which means that it’s going to give you velvety, full-bodied lips and it’s enriched with vitamin E to ensure long lasting true color. This shade great on any skintone and translates well for either day or night. I’ve worn it on many occasions, and I still get amazed by its wear-ability and stay-ability. Red is the shade of the season and you can test it out by meeting someone under the mistletoe and leaving your mark.

4. Mixed Stitch Scarf from Urban Outfitters, $28. Dark and looming, alluring and mysterious but all the while keeping you toasty during the winter months. Like many women, I find it difficult to maintain my sex appeal while I’m up to my nose in knits. This circle scarf does the trick well and compliments many of your winter weather looks. Whether you’re dripping with cable knits and wovens, sporting a leather jacket or rocking a bodycon dress, this scarf is a must-have.

5. 1950’s vintage lingerie set from Posh Girl Vintage, $140.  A good solid foundation of lingerie is a must-have for every lady. It doesn’t matter if you’re wearing a Roland Mouret gown or jeans and a t-shirt, you’ll always feel sexy if you start with the proper lingerie. And whether or not you want to keep it your little secret or share that secret with a S.O. this holiday season, this vintage lingerie set is a great gift to unwrap.

6. Velvet Bow Clutch from TopShop, $70. Adding a little bit of drama to your evenings is a good thing, as long as it’s your clutch. A cameo, and satin bows all wrapped up in blue velvet make this bag from TopShop a true gem.

7. Wrath Arcane blanket available at Brigade, $75.  Finally, my dream has come true. Now I can wrap myself up in Wrath Arcane every single night. This double fleece blanket is sold exclusively at Brigade. Detailed with the RN stamping and the harness insert. They’re only making 40 blankets so get your hands on one while you can. Finally, a piece of Wrath I can own until their women’s line, Proof, comes out next fall!

8. Moleskine notebook, $6-$15. For the writer on the go. Moleskines come in all shapes and sizes and can easily fit into a purse or a pocket when you all of a sudden get the inspiration for a lyric, story or a fashion article. It’s the nameless little black notebook known all over the world. And it’s the best travel companion that I’ve ever had.
