A WISH LIST FOR KRISTMAS
Thursday, December 24th, 2009
Since my childhood, I have made the preparation of my Christmas wish list an event. Back in the day, I would gather all the catalogs and newspaper ads and scan them in search of what I wanted dear old “Santa” to bring me. As I got older and reality set in, the process evolved; following the toy stage, I’ve found coming up with a Christmas wish list to be about ten times more fun. This year’s list definitely describes my personality.
I am a motorcycle fiend–and Ducati makes the best, in my opinion. I always tell people that, if I wasn’t a designer, I’d want to try my hand at professional motorcycle racing. My dream ride is the Ducati 800 Sport motorcycle.
Although my style is not typically inspired by the ’70s, I do love that time period–and these ’70s-inspired jeans, which are available at Topman. They look modern, but skew a bit Studio 54; I’d love to see the return of Studio 54’s glam, disco style for both men and women.
For at least the past five years, I have become obsessed with one pair of boots each winter. This season, it’s a style by Farfetch’s Schmoove, a men’s shoe company based in New York. Their “Charlie” boot is my latest must-have (the multiple straps are sick!). It’s mandatory that I have them in my closet…
…which brings me to something else that is so mandatory, I made it my business to go to the Swarovski store to try it on–the Swarovski Octea Sport watch. When I first saw the watch in person, I was stunned; it was love at first sight. When the associate put it on my wrist, I felt like I won the lottery. Seriously. Surprisingly sporty, I love how the watch’s bling is understated. I need it.
In summary, these are the things that are most “me” this season, and are the items I hope to incorporate into my wardrobe as soon as possible.
