Alice McCall

Insects aren’t usually the first thing to pop into my head when considering fab fashions, but they definitely seem to work for Alice McCall’s FW09 line, for which they were an inspiration. I usually have a special place in my heart for the weird and outrageous, and this collection actually makes insects kind of sexy.
Alice McCall is no newbie to the fashion scene. She has worked as a stylist and designer in London for the past ten years; for two years, she styled for singer Natalie Imbruglia (that name really brings me back to the ’90s!). McCall debuted her first solo label at Australian Fashion Week in 2004, and is currently based in Surry Hills, Sydney. Celebs including Chloe Sevigny and Diane Kruger are both fans of her line–and now I am, too! Pretty, sexy, sophisticated and a bit strange, McCall’s FW09 collection really has it all. I can’t wait to see what she has in store for SS10!
