Dress to the Nines

There are times when I love getting dressed up, and then there are times when I dread dressing up. For men, there are usually only a few options to choose from when dressing up, most of which are pairing different options with a standard suit (talk about fun..). But, for FW09, menswear designers took the idea of the suit and remixed it, resulting in many variations of cuts, lengths and textures. I had never been a fan of the standard suit, but designers’ modern innovations have given me a change of heart.

At Emporio Armani, Giorgio was all about the relaxed suit with a twist. He incorporated knit into the luxe looks and sent the men down the runway wearing no shirts. Dan & Dean of Dsquared2 found ways to make a suit look rich, yet casual, by separating the vest and blazer with a blue denim vest. I loved Gucci’s Italian school boy approach for FW09; between the slim suits and chic leather backpacks, I wouldn’t know where to start my shopping list. With the different looks of the suits and many ways to wear them, I am starting to look at getting dressed to the nines in a whole new light.

…finally, men are not afraid to experiment with clothes…showing your individual style is much more interesting than looking like a “stereotype”…314 is on the right way…just be comfortable and the day/night is yours…
