Over the past few months, my daily, post-grad routine has consisted of writing, sleeping, eating, editing and visiting as many fashion websites as humanly possible. While working to do something constructive with my fashion obsession (brainstorming for this site), I decided to make and relay my fashion predictions for what will be hot this spring based on my extensive research:

1. Straw purses. Yes, we all love leather, but–this spring–consider wicker; a refreshing change that complements any fun and fabulous warm weather ensemble. A covetable example is Chanel’s Country handbag (pictured); the natural tone of the straw works with any outfit, while the braided edge ads character. Unmistakably luxe, the twisted leather-and-chain handle gives the bag its beloved signature Chanel look–as does, of course, the black, white and gold Chanel logo hanging off the bag.

2. Platforms. Christian Louboutin, Ralph Lauren and Givenchy are doing it, so–obviously–they’re a must. Strappy, sling-back, with ankle straps, you name it; platforms are back in a plethora of glamorous variations. For their SS10 collections, designers went with bold colors and bright patterns. My pick for spring? Let your inner Farrah shine in these ’70s throwbacks!

Now, before you get back to shoveling that mountain of snow, remember–it won’t be too long before you’re hitting picnics in the park and outdoor concerts in your new, on-trend summer accessories!
