Felt, not a fabric that you think of when wanting to look fashion forward. Every time I’ve mentioned the unique textile to someone you can see their face frown. On the other hand, for FW09; felt has become accepted world wide throughout the fashion industry. During this fall and winter you will see felt everywhere and incorporated in every way. The one of a kind fabric made it’s first appearance on the runway back in FW08 when Stella McCartney debut a felt strapless mini dress in her fall collection. Now, felt was featured in most brands like for Lanvin, Alber Elbaz gave us a chic duffel bag, Victoria Beckham went ultra-luxe for FW09 with her felt outerwear and even Brian Atwood showed us what felt would look like as a strappy stiletto for his FW09 collection. This is definitely the season to get reacquainted with the revamped luxury fabric known as felt.

Even when I made a visit to Saks Fifth Avenue the other day, one of the sales women and I were conversing over trends and she even mentioned how felt is going to be huge this fall and winter. As I tried on a felt Rag & Bone hat, I must say I loved it and yes I too am thrilled to see how everyone will be adding felt into their wardrobe this season.
