A New Space for Raw Work
Saturday, October 10th, 2009

Myles Keough, Bryan Walsh, Billy Williams, Jennifer Hayes and Scott Ernst have at least one thing in common. They are all artists enjoying the privilege of being represented by Art Dimensions, a new nonprofit arts organization in St. Louis that’s dedicated to promoting local art.
Art Dimensions shares a space on Cherokee Street with another group that’s pushing the underground art scene into the spotlight. The Loyal Family, an event planning group with a clear vision for promoting local arts and music. The group has created many memorable shows in the jam band, rock, blues and folk scenes. Its founder, Joshua Grigaitis felt the need to help local artists get exposed so they could make their passion a viable source of income. “That’s what the Loyal Family does,” says Grigaitis, “we try to find people jobs they like doing so they’ll be more productive and the world will be a better place. I always say, the more artists that can stay artists, the better place this world will be.”
At present, the community of Art Dimensions and Loyal Family are in search of lots of stuff to help them meet their objective. If you’re interested in helping, they could use your love in the form of doors, lights, radios, clocks, phones, computers, broken musical instruments and more!
