Fashion: The Scoop

Some Like It Hot

On August 29, a trio of designers will showcase their fall lines in order to raise funds for the contemporary, issues-oriented Midtown theatre—HotCity Theatre. Presenting their designs are St. Louis based designers Melissa Rae Brown for Penny Rae Vintage, Reign by Paul Gibson and Ivcich and Asbed.

Design duo Ivcich and Asbed of Garage Apparel will be in attendance, showcasing their unique vision of re-working what you love and wearing what you know.  This sexy lifestyle brand is inspired by the individual customer and not by mainstream trends. For more information on Ivcich and Asbed check out my article “Uncovering Garage Apparel.”

Reign by Paul Gibson creates streetwise ready-to-wear for both men and women who want to dress like everyday royalty. Reign isn’t just about dressing for who you are but dressing for who you want to be and “reigning supreme” by way of unique, personal style.

Melissa Rae Brown of Penny Rae Vintage combined her love of thifting and the construction of vintage clothing when she started her line just last year. Every piece is constructed from vintage materials or reconstructed from pre-existing clothing. This designer knows how chic it is to be green!

The 2009 Hot-Fashion show will take place August 29 at the Kranzberg Arts Theatre. Doors open at 7pm with the show starting at 8pm. Admission is $30 for General Admission, $50 for front row VIP seating and $15 for standing room if available.

Tickets can be purchased in advance online at www.hotcitytheatre.org or by calling the theatre at 314.289.4063
